I have good news and bad news for the Mobile audienences! Last week I posted the cast list of the upcoming “Gala Evening of the Stars” AKA “NYCB Invasion” and this week, Mobile Ballet released who the winter guest artists will be for their annual production of “The Nutcracker.”

The best news is that “The Nutcracker” will be an ABT  invasion. Dancer Misty Copeland is coming to perform as the “Sugarplum” (Rachel Rutherford held the role last year) and Blaine Hoven will be her “Cavalier.” For the “Snow Scene pas de deux,” Roman Zhurbin will dance as soloist!

I’m so excited, Misty has never performed in Mobile before! Dione and I were dancing around the room we were so happy–all I can say is that I can’t wait until November and December! However, the bad news is that David Hallberg, my all time favorite, will not be returning.
