Mobile Arts: Disney Pops next week.

September 14, 2007 · No Comments

It seems like the new Mobile Symphony executive director Steven Hedrick is already influencing the MSO. I’ll bet that his Disney background had something to do with this “Disney Pops” concert set for September 22 and 23.

You won’t find me anywhere near it, as I find the program of no interest. So I apologize before hand for not providing a play-by-play concert review. (However, I feel like it’s this blogs duty to make sure you know about it! )

Hitchcock week?

September 14, 2007 · 1 Comment

It might be part of an elaborate plot to make me excited over nothing, but during dinner today I heard music from “Vertigo” from the living room.

“Hey, what’s that?” I asked.

“Hitchcock week,” my sister Dione said. “They’re showing all Hitchcock movies on Turner Classic.”

“They are!?”

As a budding Hitchcock fan, this news left me scouring the net for a schedule of this so-called Hitchcock week. I additionally cancelled all of my plans for the weekend and anticipated checking the cabinet for stocked popcorn.

My plans deflated as soon as I signed online. The Turner Classic Movies site showed no such “Hitchcock Week!”

P.S. They are showing “Lady from Shanghai,” (a film on my must-see list) but only at 4:30 a.m. I’ll have to rent it.
