Who wants to know? (And what I’m not supposed to know)

Call it stalking, but the WordPress “Stats” feature allows blog administrators to see which search engine terms lead readers to their blogs. I can’t say how many times I’ve typed a phrase into a search engine thinking, “I’d be embarrassed if anyone knew I was searching for that!” so I feel slightly bad for reading all the daily phrases.

Last week, someone was searching for “How old is Scott Speck, conductor of Mobile Symphony (I’m really interested in who’s posing that search query–only because I know the answer…)

Yesterday, someone searched for David Hallberg’s myspace,”–I’m guessing they’re going to add him as a friend? Earlier today, “Which summer programs did Gillian Murphy do,” among many other Gillian Murphy searches (she’s popular!), along with searches on Peter Cincotti,(I don’t blame you, he’s too charming for his own good) Wendy Whelan’s favorite dance movie” (my guess is “Turning Pointe”) a query for “Saks Euphoria” (what?) and other strange ones. Someone even reached my blog by typing in “Birthday cocktail dresses,” and “blog Anne Midgette.”

I got a lot of street-cred at May’s Arts Alive festival for lugging around that massive Olympus DSLR camera. Since purchasing it, I’ve always taken it with me downtown for in case of a photo op.

When I took it to the arts alive festival, a random photographer looked at my camera, introduced himself, and led me to Joachim Street, where the corner had become a sort of unofficial photographer watering hole. We all shook hands, looked at eachothers cameras and parted.

If you happen to be at the Art Walk on Friday night, taking the streets around 6 p.m. in the Cathedral Square district, then you might see depicted as I am in the above picture. Ponytail, camera to my eye. Minus the overwhelming intermediate sized Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch in the photo on my right arm–I broke it in New York.
